This just blows my mind.
"Fast Times at Ridgemont High" was, when released, just a fun teen movie that touched on a few serious issues. It was well reviewed, and has acheived almost cult film status. But at the time, no one had any idea that they were watching actors that would one day garner the most prestigious awards in the acting industry.
Forrest Whitaker. Academy Award winner.
Sean Penn. Academy Award winner.
Nicholas Copola. He changed his name to Nick Cage. Academy Award Winner.
Ray Walston. Emmy Award winner.
Anthony Edwards (played a friend of Sean Penn). Emmy Award Winner.
It was written by Cameron Crowe. Academy Award winner.
Also, throw in Phoebe Cates, who would mary Kevin Kline. He's an Academy Award Winner.
Damn!
