It used to be that the U.S. military got involved in other nation's military affairs to help END a civil war- Bosnia comes to mind. If I recall right, President Clinton took a lot of heat over that one. However, although the situation in the Balkans is far from perfect, it seems vastly improved over 10 years ago. I do not know how many U.S. troops died in the nine years they stayed in Bosnia, but it was considerably less than TWO THOUSAND!!!

Seems now that we have STARTED a civil war.

This is not what most would consider progress.

And how are we starting a civil war? Did we bomb the mosque? NO! It was fanatical terrorists from surronding countries that don't want peace to come to this region because it will threaten their prop up governments from within.

yes, CT, the U.S. presence in Iraq had NOTHING to do with the current situation. How foolish of me.

Over 10,000 civilian deaths following the invasion of a foreign power can have a strange effect on people and a nation...But maybe you're right. It all boils down to one mosque.

Like I was saying the other day, you have to look at the big picture. Try real hard. This goes way beyond a mosque bombing. The firing on Fort Sumter started the U.S. civil war- are you trying to tell me it wouldn't have happened anyway? That one single event started the whole damn thing?

Funny how there were no foreign fanatics trying to de-stabalize the region via triggering a civil war in Iraq BEFORE the U.S. got there.
