I'm growing tired of the national sports media declaring ths year "make or break" for my boy Eli Manning. Or the claims he must "take it to the next level."

Over the last two seasons, Eli has thrown 48 TD passes. That's more than Matt Hasselbeck, Jake Dellhome, Marc Bulger, and every other QB in the NFC. The only plyers in the NFL who have thrown more TDs over the past two season are big brother Peyton, Carson Palmer, Tom Brady, and Drew Brees. His QB rating over the last two years is higher than Michael Vick's. In 2006, his QB rating was higher than Hasselbeck and Rothlisberger. He has thrown a few too many INTs, but you simply cannot debate his effectiveness. He's led his team to two straight playoff appearances, and, maybe most importantly, he has started 39 straight games. The second longest streak in the NFC East is 8.

So lay off. The kid is alright.

And since we're talking football, I have another rant.

LaDamian Tomlinson should be referred to as "LaDamian" or "Tomlinson" or "LaDamian Tomlinson." But as for "LT," there is only one, and he wore #56 for the New York Giants. I once watched a game where Joe Theisman called Tomlinson "LT." I saw Joe Theisman in the airport in 2003, and he still has a slight limp. Hey Joe, who was it that broke your leg in 4 places?
On national television? Was it a running back for San Diego? Show some respect, especially for the man who assured that you would never again take another snap in the NFL. There is only one "LT"

1. LaDanian, not LaDamian.
2. I accept LDT, not LT.
3. Eli was the #1 pick, therefore more pressure. I didn't say it was fair.
4. My hopes aren't high for him this year anyway, what with a new OC, new QB coach, new RB, and new LT (left tackle, not Lawrence Taylor).
