Gov. Palin regards her state's geographical proximity to Russia as a serious foreign policy credential.

GIBSON: What insight into Russian actions, particularly in the last couple of weeks, does the proximity of the state give you?

PALIN: They're our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska.

Well then...

I can see the moon from my house, so I must be qualified to be an astronomer.

I can see my car from my bedroom window, I must be able tow work as a mechanic.

I can see an elementary school from my yard, so I'm enough of an expert on education to be a principal.

Wow. I'm a really smart guy!
